WHEN ONE GIRL CHANGED OUR LIVES FOREVER
Elina Kubuza Gorret lost both parents and was left homeless and without hope. The man who was taking care of her, her guardian, was HIV positive and was unable to care for her any more when Elina herself came down with malaria. That is when Annet, an administrator of WE International-Uganda, started taking care of the child. Annet took her for her medication and provided for her. One week later, her guardian died. Annet then took her in and Elina became her child.
Elina's story is not uncommon in Uganda. Countless children are left without parents, homeless and unable to provide for themselves. The hope of Neema Orphanage is to provide Elina, and children like her, with love, care, and a future.
